Your Initial Consultation

What can you expect during your first visit with us?

Upon your arrival you will be greeted by one of our Podiatry Assistants. Our Podiatry Assistants will ask you to fill in some important details regarding your podiatric and medical history.

Please allow at least 30 minutes for your initial visit.

Your Podiatrist will ask you some questions and in particular note your primary complaint and any secondary complaints you may be experiencing.

Your Podiatrist will also take note of the type of footwear you are wearing and any wear patterns which may exist.

Further examination will often include computerised analysis of your gait and/or stance. In some cases treatment plans can then be devised.

In other cases, further x-rays, joint range of motion studies, muscle analyses and in some cases ultrasound scans may be needed to determine exactly what treatment is necessary.

The Podiatrist will generally treat the primary complaint which is usually the one which is most painful. If you have multiple problems your Podiatrist will most likely need to schedule a second visit to adequately assess and treat all your complaints.

The primary objective during your first visit is to determine the cause of your primary complaint so that the right treatment plan can then be recommended.

Importantly, you will be fully informed of any necessary treatment and fees associated with this once your Podiatrist has determined the right treatment plan for you.

OUR GUARANTEE

We promise to provide you with only the best advice available. If you are unhappy with your initial consultation for any reason you will be offered a second consultation at no charge. We want you to be sure you have chosen the right Podiatrist for you. If you are unsure - ask for a second visit to discuss your concerns. You can even see a different Podiatrist for a second opinion at no extra charge if that is your wish. We will do our best to ensure you get the care you need.

Payment Terms

We require payment on the day of your consultation. If you are privately insured, please bring your health insurance card as we can use our HICAPS system to process your health insurance rebate on the spot. This means you don't have to worry about sending off any claim forms.

PLEASE NOTE:- there will usually be a gap as most health insurance funds will not generally cover you for the full consultation fee. The size of the gap will depend on your level of cover with your health fund and the generosity of your health fund. For more information on rebates you can visit: Health Insurance Funds.

We accept:

Private clients - NO referral necessary.

MEDICARE clients under the following conditions
MEDICARE does not cover you for private Podiatry services, unless your General Practitioner has completed a care plan for a chronic complaint (e.g. Diabetes, Arthritis, etc.). In these circumstances you can receive up to 5 visits under the Medicare EPC progamme. You will need an EPC form signed by your General Practitioner and the account will need to be paid in full at each visit. Following this you can claim back your rebate direct from Medicare.

Veterans Affairs
If you are seeing us through Veterans Affairs, you will need a referral from your General Practitioner prior to treatment with any Podiatrist.

Workcover clients will be accepted but only if you pay upfront. Your receipts will be issued and your rebates can then be claimed back from Workcover.

Third party accident insurance claims are also accepted on the basis that you pay upfront for any consultations or expenses incurred.
